We at Gen have been working on ransomware decryption tools since 2016. We have delivered free decryption tools for more than 30 ransomware strains and continue to help victims across the globe. Ransomware uses cryptography to lock valuable files from users, demanding payment (ransom) from them. However, proper implementation of encryption schema can be tricky. And because ransomware developers are humans, they may introduce various bugs or mistakes into their cryptography implementation. Are you interested? Then listen carefully.
In the previous year GovCERT.CZ, together with other authorities assisted one Czech institution with a major incident where the perpetrator was most likely an APT group. This presentation will show the whole process of solving the incident from the discovery to the successful eradication of the attacker. We will also show the attacker tactics, techniques and procedures, some unconventional persistence and exfiltration methods that we discovered and how we reacted to them.
Let's continue the networking over a beer somewhere around Brno...
The event takes place at Gen Digital offices in Brno - Přízova 7, Vlněna.
In the building, a receptionist will verify your ID according to the confirmed registrations list, and direct you from the building reception to the event space of Gen Digital on the 6th floor.
