Over the past year, our team revamped the GuestPortal. We started breaking down the monolith using the Mews Atlas platform. We implemented GraphQL as an API layer, rewrote the frontend code as well as the backend service, moved frontend logic to the backend, and optimized our UI for mobile use. We'll discuss our successes, including deploying GraphQL in production, and the challenges we faced, along with insights and lessons from our technical journey.
Microservices are often depicted as the ultimate solution for modern software development, but is this truly the case? In this talk, we'll unravel the myth of microservices and reveal how a well-crafted monolithic application can effectively mirror their benefits.
