Talkbase Closes Investment Round and Announces Official Launch
October 6, 2022
We’re excited to share two big announcements.
Talkbase secures $2M in pre-seed investment round
Firstly, we’re happy to share that we have closed our pre-seed investment round, securing capital from experienced Czech funds J&T Ventures and Credo Ventures, as well as American funds mxv Capital and Plug & Play Tech Center.
We were founded one year ago by Klara Losert and Roman Nguyen, who built a small but experienced team who were able to initially raise about $200,000 from angel investors, including successfully exited founders of local start-ups, including Tom Krcha from Around, Božena Řežáb from Gamee, and Jakub Jurových from Deepnote. At the same time, we attracted community professionals from Google, Salesforce, Sephora, Atlassian, and Pinterest as community advisors, working to help shape the first iteration of the platform.
This investment round attracted the famous American Plug & Play Tech Center, marking their first investment in the Czech Republic. This round also includes a former investor in PayPal, Dropbox, and Google, in addition to Czech companies J&T Ventures and Credo Ventures funds. Another well-known investment fund included in this round is mxv Capital, founded by Mark Ghermezian, who went public with his company Braze last year. The founders also expanded the ranks of their angel investors with founders and community experts such as Ben Lang from Notion, Juraj Masár from Better Stack, and Damián Brhel, who, together with his co-founder Vítek Horký, exited his company Brand Embassy a few years ago.
Talkbase waitlist is now closed and platform is available to the public
To build the platform, we surveyed the needs of more than 400 leading community managers around the world. The beta version is currently used by companies like Productboard, MEWS, Canva, and industry-leading community consultants.
“Community managers today spend most of their time working inefficiently in inappropriate tools that they have to tweak to suit their needs. In Talkbase, we automate routine processes and empower community teams to work with ambassadors, plan events or community projects, and maintain relationships with community members, all from one place,” Roman Nguyen, CTO & Co-Founder
Since launching the beta, we’ve had hundreds of community teams join the waitlist for access to use Talkbase, and as of September 28, 2022, the waitlist is now closed and Talkbase is widely available to the public.
With a number of community operations and management functions, like event management, advocate program management, a CRM, and more, we want to help community professionals optimize their time, streamline processes, and provide better collaboration and visibility across the team into community programs and priorities.
If you’re interested in checking it out, you can sign up for an account on the Talkbase website. And the great news? You can use Talkbase for free! We provide a free version where you can still do everything that Talkbase provides. If you need additional functionality or capacity, you always have the option to upgrade your account.
